Baby Honey - Sneak Peak

Tuesday, December 20

So since the day I found out my older sis was pregnant with babe #2, I knew I would not be home for his grand arrival. With his due-date annoyingly situated between Thanksgiving and Christmas, I figured making an additional trip home would be unnecessary and simply out of the question.

But when Allie called me the day she went into labor, the six hour drived seemed like merely a "hop, skip and a jump". I begged my husband to let me go, fanatically called friends to cover my work shifts, threw together a weekend bag and blew out of town. Literally....I was home from work at 5:30 and packed and on the road by 5:45. So with just 2 Mountain Dews, a Coke and a little christmas music from Mariah Carey, I was in Michigan before 2am.

And let me tell you, my spontaneous trip was worth it. I was able to see Baby Honey (a.k.a Hudson Jeffery) just minutes after he was born. There is just nothing like that newborn baby smell. I cried immediately and then cried again. Being an aunt is the best. Seriously, the best.

More pictures to come. :)
