The Look For Less - Makeup

Monday, September 5

Today we are going to try something new...frightening as it is. As requested, this week is going to be dedicated to makeup...more specifically getting "the look for less" when it comes to something rather important...your gorgeous face.

Mac, Bobbie Brown, Urban Decay, Clinique...are all great, but expensive brands. So challenging as it may seem, I am going to hit the drugstores and attempt to achieve the look for less with makeup. Wednesday will be dedicated to the face (foundation, concealer, blush, powder). Thursday will be dedicated to the eyes (primer, shadows, liner, mascara). Friday will be dedicated to the lips (lipliner, lipstick, lipgloss).

Today, however, we are going to explore the "looks" we could create.
Some are fabulous...some not so fab. We will begin with the interesting.....

Look #1
What the heck? If you ever want to be a creepy moon vampire for Halloween...just contact Christian Dior.

Look #2
This color scheme has me puzzled.

Look #3
Her makeup is done and she is ready to marry Uncle Sam!

Look #4
This look is from the Vera Wang "Ready to Wear" Fall Collection. Really? Vera....hunny...no. no. no.

Look #5
A personal favorite.  The sleepy...hungry mermaid look.

While I am sure each of these looks was inspired and expensive we are going to try and emulate looks that are a little more feminine and subtle.

Now....Valentino, Chanel, Gucci, Miu Miu  and Gianfranco Ferre....well done.
Your "looks" might actually get created again.

Look #1
Gianfranco Ferre. Lovely. Soft and dewey. Perfect for everyday.

Look #2
Miu Miu. Bravo. Love the lashes. Love the lips.

Look #3
Chanel. Eye shadow = spot on.

Look #4
Valentino. So fresh. Effortless.

Look #5
Gucci. A little intense...but toned down would be nice.

So there were some looks...all very different...all very pricey.
Stay tuned for the exciting results!
